Grape Vine (Vitis vinifera)- Mentioned in Genesis 9:20-21, Deuteronomy 8:8, Numbers 13:23, and Numbers 20:9. The grape vine is a twining plant that has the ability to climb other plants and structures. Its wood becomes quite hard with ages. The vine may produce fruits as well.
The grape vine is constantly mentioned in the bible. It is recorded as being the first cultivated plant in the Bible. Its fruits were used for wine making. Wine was seen as a necessity in the Holy Land as well.
